For over a decade, The Stanan Group has been actively involved in the design, construction and management of Adult Communities.
	The Stanan Group has been responding to the emergence in our society of the largest population of eldering people in history. There is an urgent need to develop an understanding of aging which respects the wisdom and experience of elder adults and which encourages elder adults to remain integrated into our larger society, and share that wisdom and experience with their peers and younger generations.
The Stanan Group is committed to working with others who want to create Adult Communities where growing old is more deeply respected and where elders are encouraged to live full vibrant lives and share the knowledge gained through aging.
Conscious Aging The Conscious Aging Retirement Community Movement has arisen in response to the emergence in our society of the largest population of eldering people in human history. There is an urgent need to develop for ourselves a new understanding of aging which redefines for this moment in our planet's history the ancient wisdom of many traditions. Eldering is a natural process of continued growth and development of body, mind and spirit. We are called to create retirement communities where our elders can live in harmony with nature, where they are encouraged to remain integrated into our larger society, and where we value our elders for their rich storehouse of creativity, wisdom and experience. In such communities, the later years are welcomed because they provide a time for contemplation. Reflection upon a life lived well and the sharing of its fruits with others, young and old alike, is the aim of a Conscious Aging Retirement Community, where growing old is revered as one of life's greatest teachers.
